Course Details

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Examination provides an excellent opportunity for candidates aspiring to serve in one of India’s elite Central Armed Police Forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Established in 1962, ITBP is primarily responsible for guarding India’s border with China along the Himalayan region. The force is known for its bravery, discipline, and specialized training in high-altitude operations, disaster management, and internal security duties

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India. Subjects of Nepal and Bhutan are also eligible as per Government regulations.

Gender

Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for various posts as per recruitment rules.

Educational Qualification

Constable (GD): 10th Pass from a recognized board
Head Constable / ASI Posts: 12th Pass or equivalent qualification
Officer-Level Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
Technical Posts: Additional technical qualifications may be required

Age Limit

Constable Posts: 18 to 23 Years
Head Constable / ASI Posts: 18 to 25 Years
Assistant Commandant: 20 to 25 Years

Age Relaxation

SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
OBC Candidates: 3 Years
Ex-Servicemen and other reserved categories: As per Government norms.

Physical Standards

Male Candidates

Height: 170 cm
Chest: 80 cm (with prescribed expansion)
Weight: Proportionate to height and age

Female Candidates

Height: 157 cm
Chest: Not Applicable
Weight: Proportionate to height and age
