Assam Rifles

Course Details

The Assam Rifles Examination offers an excellent opportunity for candidates aspiring to build a prestigious career in one of India’s oldest and most respected paramilitary forces. Functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs and operationally managed by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles plays a crucial role in maintaining internal security, conducting counter-insurgency operations, and guarding the Indo-Myanmar border in the North Eastern region of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India. Subjects of Nepal and Bhutan are also eligible as per Government norms.

 

Gender

Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for various posts as per recruitment rules.

 

Educational Qualification

  • General Duty Posts: 10th Pass from a recognized board
  • Technical / Tradesman Posts: 10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification depending on the post
  • Specialized Posts: Additional qualifications may be required as per official notification.

Age Limit

  • General Duty Posts: 18 to 23 Years
  • Technical and Tradesman Posts: 18 to 25 Years
  • Specialized Posts: As per recruitment notification

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
  • OBC Candidates: 3 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen and other reserved categories: As per Government regulations.

Physical Standards

Male Candidates

  • Height: 170 cm
  • Chest: 80 cm (with prescribed expansion)
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age

Female Candidates

  • Height: 157 cm
  • Chest: Not Applicable
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age

    Note: Relaxation in height and chest measurements is applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, hill areas, and other eligible categories as per Government norms.

Selection Process

The Assam Rifles recruitment process generally includes:

  • Written Examination / Computer-Based Test
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Skill / Trade Test (for technical and tradesman posts)
  • Medical Examination
  • Document Verification
